Re-Election for President and Vice President

By September 1st 2023, when Summer turned into a beautiful Fall, it was also clear that President Elisabeth Gregersen and Vice President Alice Kristensen were re-elected as the presidency of our organization. No other candidates, besides Elisabeth Gregersen and Alice Kristensen, had voiced their interest in running and therefore the current presidency could begin a new three-year term. A re-election without any opponents running is clear proof of a strong and active leadership which has the support of all members of the organization. Congratulations to both!

At the annual Congress, a status over the last three years was presented by the President. Besides this, a new and updated Health Policy, which will serve as a political guideline for the work carried out by the Danish Dental Hygienists as an organization, was adopted. New members for all the standing committees in the organization were elected and the statutes of the organization were updated.

All in all, a very good day with constructive debates and decisions that will serve as guidelines for the next three years.

The 18th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Dental Hygiene

The 18th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Dental Hygiene was held in Shizuoka Prefecture in September. The main theme of the conference was “The 100-Year life: What is required for community medical and dental cooperation? – Exploring the Expertise of Dental Hygienists.” The three-day conference was followed by on-demand distribution in October. There were 1,587 participants at the venue and 1,855 in total. In particular, from the Korean Dental Hygienists Association, President Yoon Sook Hwang gave a lecture as an invited speaker from Korea, the host country of ISDH 2024. The cooperative relationship between the neighboring countries of Korea and Japan was reaffirmed. We from Japan look forward to participating in Seoul, Korea!
