The Current State of Prevention in Oral Healthcare

The 2026 IFDH Global Report reviews the preventive practices currently used in the dental hygiene profession worldwide, based on a 2026 survey of every IFDH national association member.

It is the most comprehensive overview of global preventive practices of its kind, with respondents comprising dental hygienists and dental therapists from around the world.

The Report is divided into 10 oral health prevention topics and 35 questions in total, all with accompanying bar charts to provide a quick overview of the results. The categories are:
